Obtaining the HDF Software

Latest Release:   4.2.12       [ Newsletter 150 ]

The latest formal release of HDF4 can be obtained from this page. HDF4 requires the ZLIB and JPEG external libraries. The pre-compiled binaries below are built with these as well as the SZIP library. For convenience, these external libraries are included in the binaries below.

External Libraries Used by HDF

The ZLIB and JPEG libraries are required by HDF, but the SZIP external library is optional. Users can typically use the ZLIB and JPEG libraries installed on their systems, but the source code is provided below in case there is a need:
